WACO RNF NC111Y

NC111Y (S/N 3299) was manufactured by the Waco Aircraft Company, Troy, OH on July 24, 1930. It was signed twice in the Parks Airport Register. The first landing was on June 21, 1930 at 11:15AM. Based at Troy, OH, it was westbound to Oklahoma City, OK flown by R.M. Ruter. Ruter did not indicate passengers. Note that the arrival date is about a month before the airplane was officially released from the factory. The purpose of this early flight was not noted in the Register.

The second landing at East St. Louis was flown by D.W. Hofener on October 30, 1931 at 2:15PM. Based at Long Beach, CA, Hofener cited his destination as Troy, OH, probably the Waco factory. Like Ruter, Hofener did not indicate that he carried passengers.

NC111Y also appeared once flown by an unidentified pilot signed in the Grand Central Air Terminal (GCAT) on Thursday, May 14, 1931. Please direct your browser to the GCAT link for more information about the airplane, including to additional photographs.

Today registration 111Y is assigned to a Cessna 680 in Nashville, TN. If you have additional information about NC111Y, please let me KNOW.
